Hamilton Yet Again…..

In the The Battle of Yorktown’s final moments, Daveed Diggs, Okieriete Onaodowan, Leslie Odom Jr., and Lin-Manuel Miranda bellow through the auditorium, “WE WON!, WE WON!, WE WON!, WE WON!”, a reference to the surrender of British troops during the eponymous battle, and a recognition of American sovereignty on the where the bloody war was fought. Once again we are confronted with a tale of American Exceptionalism that seems foreign to descendants of slaves, inhabitants of American colonies, and survivors of an exceptionally evil genocide.
